About the destination

Jozani-Chwaka Bay is Zanzibar's only national park, a pocket of groundwater forest, mangroves and salt marsh that protects the rare Zanzibar Red Colobus monkey — found nowhere else on Earth.

Why visit

A guided 1-hour walk gets you within metres of habituated Red Colobus troops. The mangrove boardwalk and butterfly centre round out a perfect morning before an afternoon at Paje Beach.
