About the destination
The Serengeti is the most iconic safari destination on Earth — a sea of golden grass split by acacia woodland, granite kopjes and slow rivers full of crocodiles and hippos. From June to October its short-grass plains erupt with over 1.5 million wildebeest and zebra moving north toward the Mara — the greatest overland migration left on the planet.
Why visit
If you only do one African safari in your life, do it here. Lion, leopard and cheetah sightings are almost guaranteed in Seronera; the Mara River crossings (Jul–Sep) are spectacular; and a hot-air balloon dawn over the plains is the single most unforgettable hour you will ever spend in the bush.
